The photo shows a group of mine buildings. A caption in red in the upper left says “Galleyville Mine”
Back: unmarked, divided

“The Galleyville mine was located just south of Centerville, where Drake Avenue meets the Numa Highway, on the north side. It was operated by the Anchor Coal Company and the National Coal Company and existed from 1892 to 1924. Many of the mine’s 200 workers lived in the mining camp that developed along the Numa road.” from Images of America: Appanoose County.

from a facebook group: “the little coal mining town west of Hiway 5 just past the drive in and over the RI railroad tracks. Six houses when I was there; only three now I think. The Galleyville mine was on the east side of the tracks and north side of the road.” “I remember being told as a kid that my dad, Victor Butkovich, was the mayor of Galleyville. Maybe an “honorary” title?” https://www.facebook.com/groups/133920123907/permalink/10153214315723908/?comment_id=10158176024383908
